Meet Our Staff
Mike Pfeiffer, AAM
Owner and President: ASE Master Tech, Service Consultant, and Parts Specialist
Mike Pfeiffer, the owner of Certified Transmissions Complete Auto Care, grew up in Wisconsin. Mike and his cousins grew up with grease on their hands. Right out of high school, he went into hardware, and got his business sense working in retail. He was assistant manager, with 105 people underneath him, selling hardware. Retail burned him out--65 hours a week, and he hated his job. His uncle advised him to change careers, and asked him to work for him. So he quit (his wife was pregnant), and went to work for his uncle. He was mechanically inclined, so he had the background. His uncle was close to retirement. His cousin didn’t want to stay with the shop, so he had an agreement to take over the shop. His cousin didn’t move on, he didn’t want to partner with his cousin, so another cousin was in Phoenix and he went there to investigate the transmission part of the business, but disliked Phoenix.
Mike and his wife took a bus tour to the Grand Canyon, had an extra day, and went to Prescott. They fell in love with Prescott. He was told they couldn’t make money in Prescott, but he knew there was plenty of opportunity. That was 31 years ago. 31 years later, as of October 24, 2018, here he is making a living in Prescott! Mike had many certifications, so decided to name the business Certified Transmissions.
